About Chris
A neighbour who knows St. Vital
Chris Sigurdson is a St. Vital resident who has dedicated himself to public service and this community — and believes City Hall should work harder for the people who live here.
His story
Rooted in St. Vital
Chris Sigurdson has lived in St. Vital his whole life. This isn't somewhere he moved to — it's where he was born, raised, and where he is raising his own family today.
Over the years, Chris has become deeply involved in the neighbourhood. He has volunteered with local community associations, participated in public consultations on infrastructure and development, and built relationships with the residents, business owners, and community leaders who make St. Vital what it is.
Chris is a lawyer, husband, father, and small businessman. He holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Winnipeg, and degrees in History and Law from the University of Manitoba. He has served as a local school trustee for 16 years — bringing the same commitment to accountability and community that he will bring to City Hall.
What drives him
Values that guide every decision
Accountability
Chris believes elected officials should answer to residents — not the other way around. He will be transparent, accessible, and honest about what's possible and what isn't.
Community first
Every decision Chris makes at City Hall will be guided by one question: is this good for the people of St. Vital? Not for developers, not for political allies — for residents.
Long-term thinking
Quick fixes and deferred maintenance cost more in the long run. Chris will push for investments that are built to last and plans that look beyond the next election cycle.
