What I'll fight for

St. Vital residents deserve a councillor who shows up, speaks up, and follows through. Here's where I stand on the issues that matter most to our community.

Safe Neighbourhoods

Every resident of St. Vital should feel safe walking their street, letting their kids play outside, and coming home at night.

  • Strengthen partnerships between the community and Winnipeg Police Service to improve response times and visibility in St. Vital
  • Advocate for improved street lighting in high-traffic areas, parks, and pedestrian corridors
  • Support community-led safety initiatives and neighbourhood watch programs with city resources
  • Push for faster action on chronic nuisance properties and abandoned buildings that create safety hazards

Infrastructure & Roads

Crumbling roads, broken sidewalks, and deferred maintenance aren't just inconveniences — they're a sign that St. Vital isn't getting its fair share.

  • Demand a transparent, equitable formula for how the city allocates road repair and infrastructure budgets across wards
  • Hold the city accountable to completing repairs on time and to a standard that lasts more than one winter
  • Prioritize sidewalk and active transportation improvements to make St. Vital safer for pedestrians and cyclists
  • Advocate for proactive maintenance schedules rather than reactive emergency fixes that cost more in the long run

Community Investment

St. Vital's parks, recreation centres, local businesses, and community spaces are the heart of what makes this ward a great place to live.

  • Champion funding for St. Vital's parks and green spaces, including upgrades to aging playground equipment and sports facilities
  • Support local businesses through fair zoning, accessible permitting, and a city government that doesn't create unnecessary red tape
  • Advocate for recreation programming that serves families, seniors, and youth — not just those who can afford premium fees
  • Engage residents meaningfully in decisions about development and land use in their own neighbourhood

Accountable Government

City Hall should work for residents — not the other way around. That means transparency, accessibility, and honest communication.

  • Hold regular ward-level town halls and community meetings so residents can raise concerns directly
  • Publish clear, plain-language updates on ward projects, budget decisions, and council votes
  • Respond promptly to constituent inquiries — no one should wait weeks to hear back from their councillor
  • Push back on backroom deals and advocate for open, competitive processes for city contracts and development approvals
